General Info - Statewide License


The Commission of Real Estate Appraisers, Appraisal Management Companies and Home Inspectors licenses and regulates individuals who perform real estate appraisal services in the State of Maryland. 

The Commission of Real Estate Appraisers, Appraisal Management Companies and Home Inspectors licenses and regulates individuals who perform real estate appraisal services in connection with federally related transactions as defined in the federal Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act of 1989.  The Commission licenses and regulates real estate appraisers under the provisions of Business Occupations and Professions, Article 16, Annotated Code of Maryland, and Maryland Code of Regulations, Subtitle 19.  The Commission investigates complaints against appraisers and may impose, if warranted, an administrative sanction upon a license holder.
