Organic Livestock Application Details

Organic Livestock Application

General Info - Statewide Registration

Producers interested in becoming certified organic for livestock production must complete the Livestock Application Packet and the Crop and Pasture Application Packet (livestock must have access to certified organic pasture) to apply for certification.

New applicants for organic certification must complete and submit a completed Livestock Application Packet, including all applicable forms. Renewing organic applicants must submit an updated Livestock Application Packet, including all applicable forms, by April 1 annually. The application packet contains templates to develop an Organic System Plan (OSP) that meets National Organic Program (NOP) regulations. If forms and templates are incomplete, MDA will send requests for additional information, which may delay the certification process.

No additional cost (must pay $500 annually for crop and pasture certification).

  • Applications can be made anytime for new applicants, but April 1 for renewing applicants.
