To ensure safety and protect the environment, all incinerator operators are required to be properly trained and certified prior to the operation of any incinerator in the State of Maryland. Incinerator operators must receive certification from a training course provider approved by Department of Environment.

  1. Attend an approved training course. Training course material must be submitted to the Department in order to gain training course approval.

  2. Pass an examination administered by the training provider with a grade of at least 70%.
