Obtaining the Certification

Ready to get your certification? - Steps, Requirements, and Documents

1. New applicants for organic certification must complete and submit a completed Crop and Pasture Application Packet, including all applicable forms.

2. Renewing organic applicants must submit an updated Crop and Pasture Application Packet, including all applicable forms, by April 1 annually.

3. The application packet contains templates to develop an Organic System Plan (OSP) that meets National Organic Program (NOP) regulations.

4. If forms and templates are incomplete, MDA will send requests for additional information, which may delay the certification process.
