General Info - Statewide Permit


Collection Permits allow the sampling, removal or possession of aquatic organisms from Maryland waters that may not be permitted under commercial or recreational fishing licenses.

This permit covers scientific research or educational projects, collections of display animals, ecological monitoring or in-stream surveys, but may not be used to collect animals for sale or personal use.  Please visit our Wildlife and Heritage Service scientific collection permit webpage for collection permits for non-aquatic organisms.
