NON-GOVERNMENTAL ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR APPLICATION

Electrical inspector licensing in the state of Maryland is certified on a fixed, three-year cycle. Applying in the middle of a certification period does not change your expiration date or prorate your application fee. Below is a table of certificate periods.

Instructions

Review the steps - read carefully

  1. Required Documents

    Submit with your application: a resume of qualifications, training, employment history and copies of any current electrical certifications.

  2. Fee Payment

    A $100 fee is due with your application via electronic payment.

  3. Testing

    Approved applicants will receive written instructions that allow you to proceed with the process which requires satisfactorily passing a comprehensive written examination administered by this Office.

  4. Renewal

    Renewal Certificates shall be valid for a period of three (3) years.

  5. Address Change

    Certificate holders shall give the State Fire Marshal written notice of change of address within ten (10) business days after the change.
