Maryland Certified Sod is grown under specifications set forth by the Maryland Department of Agriculture Turf and Seed Program. It is one of the most difficult turf specifications in the country. Certified sod must be grown from certified seed selected by the University of Maryland to perform well in Maryland's specific climate.

Create Account
Click the Register button in the upper right hand corner of the page to create a Maryland OneStop account. The email you use to register your account is where all notifications concerning applications you submit via the OneStop portal will be sent.
You may change the email address associated with your account at any time. Click the dropdown menu next to your name in the upper right hand corner of the page and navigate to Account Settings to update your OneStop account information.

Log In and Apply
Log into your Maryland OneStop account and click Apply Now.

Submit All Applications
Fill out a separate application for each farm that has fields needing inspection and certification.

View Application
Go to the My Dashboard tab in your OneStop account to view the status of your application.
What Happens After Submission

Application An applicant must complete all required fields in this Maryland Certified Sod application to be assigned a field inspection.

Invoice
An invoice will be generated and sent to you based on the total acreage of fields to be inspected.
The inspection cost for Vegetatively Established Warm Season Grass is $6 per acre.
The inspection cost for Cool Season Turf and Warm Season Seeded Variety is $9 per acre.

Field Inspection
Once an application is Approved, an applicant's field will be assigned a field inspection. Field inspections occur semi-annually in the fall and spring.

Certification
Upon thorough inspection, an applicant may be granted certification along with Maryland Certified Turfgrass tags and a copy of the Field Inspection Report.
